Former AC Milan, Manchester City and Chelsea striker George Weah has been elected president of Liberia.

Weah – the first African to win the Ballon D’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year – won comprehensively, clinching 12 of the 15 counties in the West African country.

His opponent Joseph Boakai, who has been vice-president for the last 12 years, only had two counties vote for him.

Weah and Vice President Joseph Boakai were contending to replace Africa’s first elected female president, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, whose 12-year rule cemented peace in Liberia after the end of civil war in 2003.

George Weah is a likeable individual who have won everything there is to win in world football, (not in term of trophies) The first and only African to have won the Ballon D’Or and FIFA World Player of the Year in addition to three times best African player of the year. George has dedicated his life and resources to  developing sports and empowering the youth of Liberia, there is not a doubt whatsoever the result of this election considering that Africa of today has the largest number of youths in the world and the youth of Liberia are strongly behind the Football legend.

Now Arsene Wenger can officially congratulate him as a winner of the Liberian presidential election unlike the miss up of the past. Wenger was him mentor for many years and there is still a bond in between the two men. Its also a pride for his to see one of his student becoming a president, also a glory to the premier league, ex players are always part of the Premier league family.

weah2There is hope for Africa with this victory, the old corrupt and out of touch politicians are been voted out in Liberia and we can only hope this will affect or spill over to the rest of Africa at some stage. He will be a very very good president for Liberia, unlike the usual African president who becomes millionaires when they attain power by looting their nation’s wealth, Weah has seen money in his life and has single-handedly financed the national team for many years with his personal fortunes. He has gone through abject poverty in Monrovia growing up and kind of understood what it takes to survive poverty, Weah is a fighter, a winner and a man which will never settle for anything less than the best. He wanted to be president, he went for it and got it, that’s the kind of man he is and the type Africa needs if the continent is gonna survive imperialism.

Weah might not be a seasoned politician but he’s expected to do much better than the so called seasoned politician. Seasoned politician in African standard are looters and haters who are specialist in robbing the people to accumulate massive personal wealth. Seasoned African Politicians are people who gets to power and want to rule forever, they are people who will destroy any opposition and opposite opinions.

George-Weah

Big difference between Weah and Trump is literally night and day, Weah knows what poverty feels like, Trump doesn’t and never will understand unless he’s being after a huge group of people whom he and his companies have scammed and victimized over the years, and loses everything he has in possession, and even then Trump still thinks he’s “superior” to everyone else, unlike Weah, whom has a humbling beginning in life.
