GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS INVITATION
The United States President, Donald Trump has done another Trump again.
This time the Twitting president said Saturday morning he’s withdrawing an invitation for Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry to visit the White House to celebrate the team’s NBA championship.
On Friday, Curry was asked about the potential trip and he told reporters: “I don’t want to go.”
Trump then responded to that interview on social media:
Mr President how can you withdraw an invitation to Stephen Curry which he has already rejected 24 hrs earlier?
You can only withdraw an invitation if the guy is happy and willing to attend but he never hesitated by saying NO. “I don’t want to go”.
Warriors teammate Draymond Green explained Friday the Dubs were still planning to hold a discussion within the team about whether to attend or skip the proceedings.
“We’re going to have a discussion to pretty much take the temperature of everyone. We’re going to decide what is best, whatever we think is best for us,” Green told reporters. “It may not be the most popular thing or whatever we decide. But at the end of the day, we are the ones to decide to attend.
What’s President Trump going to do if the whole team turned down his invitation which is more than likely judging by the turn of events and what Green is saying to the reporter here.
He further said that It’s only right that we all decide together. It’s not just one person’s choice. It’ll be between all of us. We’ll come up with a decision and then go from there.”
Apparently according to some Twitter users Stephen Curry has been to the white house before to Visit the former President Barack Obama
Another user Facts do Matter actually said going to meet a racist dictator is not honourable.
In May, Golden State head coach Steve Kerr spoke out about Trump’s leadership qualities.
“Frankly, I think it’s why Trump couldn’t be more ill-suited to be president, because he’s a blowhard,” he said. “You don’t see some of the qualities you talk about, the resilience, the ability to communicate, the compassion. None of that.
Any body arguing with his opinion here with current events surrounding the president?
“Has anyone ever thought that Donald Trump was a great leader?”
Discussion about attending the White House visit also arose when the Chicago Cubs and New England Patriots went in June and August respectively.
Something is not just right somewhere if players have to discuss whether to attend or skip a traditional whitehouse invitation of such magnitude and significance.
It’s not an issue that’s isolated to the Trump administration, however. Athletes have skipped the White House visit for a variety of reasons over the years. President don’t need to respond to such especially over social media.
Twitter reacted to the Twitting President latest saga. Lets see some reactions on Twitter.
It’s a mix and interesting reaction on Twitter as some people think what the president has done is absolutely spot on while others think it’s ridiculous and Un-American being the land of freedom and leader of the free world.
